The Self-Compassion App is based on the bestselling book, The Compassionate Mind Workbook (Irons & Beaumont, 2017), which has been found useful in helping individuals learn to be kinder to themselves, boost wellbeing, improve levels of compassion, and reduce self-criticism. To our knowledge the app is the first commercially available app to focus on the philosophy, theory and principles of Compassion Focused Therapy and Compassionate Mind Training. The 28 day app includes exercises, meditations, quotes, a daily wisdom and practice, audios and prompts, all of which aim to help individuals develop compassion for themselves, experience compassion from others, and be more compassionate to other people. The user has the option to either read or listen to the daily wisdom in each session before moving on to the daily practice.
