The article presents the part one of a study which explores the basic principles guiding musculoskeletal assessment using the model of Doctor James Cyriax in Great Britain. It discusses the fundamentals of assessment including the importance of x-ray, palpation and direct treatment to the source of pain or injury. It explains the fundamentals of joint movement and its end-feels.
