Abstract
The multidisciplinary and holistic assessment of older people allows health professionals to gain insight into their individual needs and so provide them with person-centred care. Five key domains need to be explored when assessing older people, including the psychological domain. The main health problems affecting older people in this domain are cognitive impairment, depression and delirium. This fourth article in a six-part series explores the different tools available to screen for, and assess, cognitive impairment, depression and delirium.
