Abstract
Abnormal biomechanics, especially dynamic knee valgus, a combination of femoral adduction, femoral internal rotation, external knee rotation, tibial abduction, and ankle eversion is known to be associated with patellofemoral pain (PFP). To stabilise the patellofemoral joint during leisure and sporting activities by increasing the hip external rotation and hip abduction, researchers in the USA invented the Powers™ strap.
