Support workers : key members of the multidisciplinary team
Stonehouse, DP
Authors
Abstract
Multidisciplinary team working is key to patients receiving the
right care at the right time, delivered by appropriately qualified
and experienced staff. Support workers are a vital part of this
team and their contribution needs to be recognised, both by other
professional groups, but also importantly by themselves. This
article will examine why the multidisciplinary team is so important
to delivering quality patient care. It will also highlight potential
barriers and how these can be broken down.
