Abstract

A case analysis is presented of Dean Allen Mellberg’s shooting spree on Fairfield Air Force Base on June 20, 1994. The case analysis presents that he reportedly has a diagnosis of Autism, and a Paranoid Personality Disorder. Although the diagnoses of Autism and a Personality Disorder cannot be reviewed due to a paucity of publically available information, the Path toward Intended Violence was used in the analysis. A forensic profile is presented which suggests that due to personal grievances and violent ideation, he progressed along the Path to Intended Violence, which culminated in the attacks in Spokane, Washington.
