The stories that people tell: Receiving care from the Trust report from round 2

Abstract

This is the second of four reports from a project commissioned by Ashton, Wigan and Leigh Community Healthcare. Narratives were collected from service-users to explore what it was like to be on the receiving end of the Trust's community services.
This report is based on the analysis of narratives collected 12 months into the project. Service-users from 4 Care Groups: Complex Care, Acute Care Closer to Home, Long Term Care and Children, Young People and Families were interviewed. For each of these Care groups, the analyses allowed an exploration of the following four questions:
• What makes a good health care worker?
• What makes a good service?
• How do patients relate to the health service and health care generally?
• What makes a less than perfect health care experience?
