Abstract

In the United Kingdom, where no in-depth debate has ever taken place on the missions of higher education, for thirty years we have witnessed a more or less accentuated rapprochement between universities and their territories. But decentralization could be called into question by the new government coalition. The future of higher education will inevitably be painful .
