Abstract

Creating a single Knowledge Management Infrastructure with intelligence interfaces to facilitate the complete Knowledge Management Life Cycle within a virtual community is a challenging opportunity. During early 2006, to excel the NoE project (EU) and to provide unrestricted secure access to the knowledge created within the consortium, a requirement of a Knowledge Base Infrastructure has been established. This system and embedded tools should facilitate current and future Intellectual Property research and enhance sharing of resource bases available at many geographically dispersed sites. Hence, ideally this tool must have the capacity to capture and disseminate currently existing knowledge in many different forms and provide a metaphor for the creation of future knowledge. This paper presents requirements analysis, development process and deployment of the first prototype Interactive Knowledge Base Software Tool. This centralised web-based repository access mechanism is targeted for managing distributed IP development and dissemination work of the EU Network.
