Abstract

This project will begin by looking at current literature on webcam use to identify likely areas of successful application in a vocational programme. The programme to be used in the project is the BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography Degree. The areas may involve supporting, in the UK or abroad, problem-based learning (PBL), one to one tutorials, project supervision and student support associated with independent learning modules. A methodology and analysis will be devised to evaluate the impact of the webcams from a technical, psychological and vocational programme perspective. The programme perspective will include obtaining the views of clinical and academic staff and students. The outcomes of the project will be to identify the role of webcams in a vocational BSc honours degree and disseminate the lessons learned to other programme teams across the university and higher education sector. The normal ethical approval requirements will be sought from the faculty ethics committee.
