Abstract

This study compares the communication in Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) care between neurologists and psychologists through VADER sentiment analysis and LDA topic modeling. It reveals a stark contrast in language use: neurologists prefer clinical terms, while psychologists use layperson-friendly language, with the latter showing more positive sentiment.
Clinical Relevance— Simplifying medical language in FND care can boost patient comprehension and outcomes, emphasizing the need for interdisciplinary collaboration.
