This chapter explores the vulnerabilities women face in respect of gendered inequalities that are demonstrated to exist in society including the gender health gap, with evidence from the UK showing how women are disproportionately predisposed to certain health conditions and where inequalities in treatment exist. There will be an analysis of other structural inequalities impacting on the vulnerability of women across the life course including the gender pay gap, gender care gap and gender pension pay gap. The chapter highlights an intersection of age and gender, bringing unique vulnerabilities in a 'double jeopardy', whereby stereotypes, both in relation to age, and those related to being female, exist in the workplace.
