Abstract
This study analyses client experiences in UK rehabilitation centres through a thematic analysis of 150 post-2020 reviews. Employing Braun and Clarke’s (2006) framework, verified independent platform data revealed structural and service-related gaps, notably in aftercare and staff-to-patient ratios, crucial for sustaining recovery (Neale et al., 2014).
Key themes include staff support, aftercare, treatment efficacy, cost transparency, mental health integration and facilities. Findings expose gaps in personalised care and ethical concerns regarding private rehab pricing. Recommendations focus on staffing improvements, mental health integration, and structured aftercare. The research contributes to understanding patient-centred care in addiction treatment and highlights systemic gaps requiring urgent reform.
