Biography Throughout my career at Salford, I have had sustained output of publications to Journals and International conferences. During my career, I have published more than 140 papers. Mostly in Clean energy and renewable energy.
As the lead in the Engineering Thermodynamics and Clean Technologies themes, I am responsible for the development of all academic and experimental activities in this area. My duties include acting as Module Leader for multiple modules, ensuring learning and experimental materials are excellent and procuring laboratory equipment to develop new areas in teaching and research. I have mobilized new research directions in thermodynamics and fuel cell modelling with colleagues in the multi-physical engineering sciences group (MPESG). My expertise in advanced heat transfer for example has contributed to new models formulated with non-Fourier physics which accurately simulates thermal relaxation in coatings and clean thermal power systems.
I am responsible for the management of the admissions process which is vital to the maintenance of healthy student numbers.
In my role as the current Directorate Admissions Lead for CSE: Engineering for all UG and PG courses in Aeronautical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering I ensure that the admissions processes are implemented to a high standard.
Research Interests I have extensive research and teaching experience. I originally focused on gas turbine thermodynamics in my research and solar energy. More recently I have mobilized new research directions in thermodynamics and fuel cell modelling with colleagues in the multi-physical engineering sciences group (MPESG). My expertise in advanced heat transfer for example has contributed to new models formulated with non-Fourier physics which accurately simulates thermal relaxation in coatings and clean thermal power systems. I have also stimulated new directions in magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) green technology and worked with colleagues to use entropy generation minimization (EGM) and nanotechnology in thermal engineering.
Teaching and Learning Engineering Thermodynamics Level 4 & 5

Industrial Management Level 6
Final year and MSc Project supervision.

An experienced academic who has previously led two MSc courses. The MSc in Intelligent Machinery and The MSc in Energy Technology and Sustainable development, both of which were accredited. As the academic lead it was my responsibility to take the courses to academic panels for validation by the university. I deliver a significant number of undergraduate modules, which are all professionally resourced on Blackboard. My teaching is a combination of online and face to face teaching.
I am an active member of the North Western Regions Institution of Mechanical Engineering Design challenge universities committee and have for the past decade developed challenges for undergraduate students. At these events universities from the north west of England come to a host university to compete against each other. I was the academic lead for the April 2023 competition held at Salford university.
My contribution and academic practice with regard to equality, diversity, and inclusion is significant. I provide a classroom environment where all students are respected and treated fairly, regardless.
I have published papers at national conferences examining design teaching methods in Higher education which have contributed to my teaching practices.
I successfully lead the MSc Energy Technology and Sustainable Development, providing a foundation for many graduates to gain a successful career in the field of Renewable Energy. During the recent development of the engineering courses, I rewrote three existing modules in Engineering Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics to support CEP to Engineering council AHEP4 requirements. I have continually throughout my career at Salford made significant contribution to curriculum development. I have supervised a significant number of MSc dissertations (more than 30)
