Dr Rabea Elmazuzi

Biography Dr Rabea Elmazuzi is a Mathematician with over 30 years of experience, she joined the University of Salford as an Hourly paid academic in 2010 with the establishment of the mathematics degree programme. In 2020 she became teaching fellow and led the Financial Mathematics programme until 2023.

After completing her BSc in mathematics, she was awarded a teaching assistant post and scholarship of MSc in pure Mathematics with dissertation on Topology from the university of Tripoli after which she won a PhD scholarship award, later obtaining her PhD from the university of Salford in 2011 on Fluid Dynamics with a thesis on Oscillatory Oseenlets.
Research Interests •Fast Numerical solutions for Boundary Integral Equations (BIEs) and Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) with wavelet and Multiwavelets based.
•Fluid Dynamics particularly time periodic motions such as swimming and flapping, which has applications on biological fluid dynamics (swimming bacteria, flagellum and micro-robotic)
•Numerical Analysis and Optimisation: Numerical Fast Solver for Fluid Dynamics Problems, and Wavelet-based techniques for computer mathematical models such as Wavelet-Based Solvers for High-Dimensional PDEs in Machine Learning, Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman and Kolmogorov equations.
Teaching and Learning Currently, leading and teaching Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Statistics and Mathematical Statistics modules in the Mathematics BSc programme.
Previously, I have taught Mathematics module for International Foundation year programme and Introduction to Probability and Statistics for Mathematics Foundation year.

For my teaching practice I have implemented the assessment for learning process by using a formative feedback approach to enhance students summative performance.
Managing Levelling up scheme at Salford which is a nationwide scheme that gives Mathematics students teaching work experience by taking part in tuitions for A level students from local colleges and sixth forms. The scheme is organised by Department for Education, LMS and IMA. Representing University of Salford in the Greater Manchester group which includes University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University.
