Biography Dr Melanie Stephens, BSc (Hons), MA, PGCAP, PhD, is an Associate Professor (Reader) in Adult Nursing in the School of Health and Society at the University of Salford.
Research Interests My research interests include interprofessional education (IPE), tissue viability, frugal innovation, virtual wound care clinics and pressure ulcer prevention and management.

PhD Topics Melanie supervises and examines doctoral candidates with an interest in critical realism as a philosophical approach, as well as other qualitative approaches. She has a track record of conducting research studies using Heron's co-operative enquiry, action research and a metasynthesis. Melanie has conducted, supervised and examined research on a range of nursing , health and social care topics which include interprofessional education and practice (IPE/IPP), tissue viability, frugal innovation, virtual and nurse led clinics, practice supervision, ICU nurse competencies, ACP nurse retention and recruitment and care homes.
