Biography I was a police officer for thirty years, working in a variety of operational and project management roles. In particular, I spent several years in the field of offender management, working on national and regional projects and latterly managing local custody suites. On leaving the police I gained a PhD at Manchester University, Business School, in the area of organisational management and operations, focusing on the 're-professionalisation' of policing. From that, I took up the post of lecturer in Criminology and Policing at the University of Salford. My interests are in; the operationalisation of policing, the criminal justice system and offender management.
