Biography Dr. Nilihan E.M. Sanal-Hayes is a dedicated lecturer in Psychology with a profound focus on understanding the intricate processes of cognitive development and cognitive functioning, particularly within clinical populations . Her research is distinguished by its emphasis on studying the cognitive challenges experienced by individuals facing long-term health conditions . She has made significant contributions to the study of cognitive impairments associated with long COVID, multiple sclerosis (MS), dementia, and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). By examining the neurological and psychological dimensions of these conditions, Dr. Sanal-Hayes aims to advance knowledge that supports better diagnostic tools, therapeutic interventions, and quality-of-life improvements for affected individuals.
