Dr Rachel Kettle
Biography | I am an experienced evidence synthesis methodologist and guideline developer having spent 12 years (2012-2024) developing and/or quality assuring systematic reviews and guidelines for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) across a variety of Clinical, Public Health and Social Care topics. This has included intervention, qualitative, diagnostic, prognostic, epidemiological and mixed methods syntheses in diverse topic areas such as Familial Ovarian Cancer, Homelessness, Safeguarding, Behaviour Change, Acute Coronary Syndromes, Diabetic Retinopathy, Harmful Sexual Behaviour, Venous thromboembolic disease, Self Harm and many more. I am currently a Research Fellow in Systematic Reviews at the University of Salford in the School of Health & Society. I am responsible for co-delivering the NIHR: Mixed Method Evidence Synthesis for Equity: to identify inclusive education and information interventions for all people managing early-stage chronic kidney disease award. Prior to my current role and work with NICE I spent time as a Public Health practitioner undertaking policy and commissioning work through for example Prison and Community healthcare needs assessments. I have also worked in community development roles focused on reducing inequalities and supporting the re-engagement of disadvantaged and disenfranchised communities through volunteering and community based education in Sport, Exercise and Health, in addition to lecturing part-time in these topic areas at both Bachelors and Masters level. |
