Abstract
This paper presents a technique that intends to recognize bangla characters from Bangladeshi automobile registration plates. Even though the recognition of characters from registration plates are nothing new but the conditions and circumstances surrounding the recognition process that is going to be discussed in due course of this paper is something i.e. worth looking into. In this paper we are dividing the whole process into three major parts. The first being isolation of the registration plate, the second being the segmentation of each character from the plate and finally recognizing each character. All the results generated in this paper are done with the help of MATLAB.
