Abstract
We make a case for the necessity, the pleasure, and the provocation of radio drama by arguing that it is important for its accessibility, the way it uses imagination, and its sense of intimacy. We note the current
state of academic study on radio drama and provide the reasons and history behind the founding of the Echo Salon Audio Drama Listening Group.
