China's energy diplomacy and international responsibilities : a case study of Darfur

Abstract

Requirements for imported overseas oil and gas resources on the domestic energy supply and demand objective China to maintain long-term stability and security of these overseas energy supply. China is actively engaged in energy diplomacy. The connotation of the concept of "international responsibility" in China is still regulated by the discourse hegemony of the Western world. In the specific practice of energy diplomacy, due to its own "hard interests" and "soft interests" needs , China has gradually combined the corresponding limited international responsibilities. The Darfur issue in Sudan is a typical example.
