Abstract
After a lifetime of work in nursing eduction, Martin disposes of a number of pet distractions from true Higher Education into George Orwell (and lately Frank Skinner's)'ROOM 101'. These include unnecessary bureaucracy, spurious 'quality assurance', and the new scam culture of 'invites' to present at conferences and publish in journals of little reputation.
