Hardicre, J
Authors
Abstract
The process of informed consent is at the very heart of ethical research practice and underpins the design and management of research and clinical trials. Informed consent is essential to protect the rights and safety of patients in research and is the major consideration when ethical and institutional approvals are granted prior to studies being undertaken. This paper discussed valid, informed consent for research and how this can be achieved in practice.
