The study of political marketing at a local level :
conceptual foundations and research directions
Reeves, P
Authors
Abstract
Whilst political marketing has become established as a research theme, there has been a
lack of conceptual and empirical research into local political marketing strategies and
practices. In the context of U.K, this paper begins to explore local political marketing as
a subject. The notion of local political marketing is therefore introduced, before the role
of local party members in political marketing is considered. The paper then outlines
current and potential future research avenues in local political marketing, before closing
with conclusions.
