Abstract

The project aims to develop a video based learning resource that could be accessed through Blackboard containing video clips of practical skills and real clinical cases / case studies. These are core elements of vocational degree programmes such as Physiotherapy. These clips will be combined with elements of explanatory text, self-assessment tools, and links to other related resources and online discussion boards.

Previous work of an innovative nature has taken place within the Physiotherapy Directorate in respect of the creation of video-based learning resources. This project will continue on from this work utilising the skills and equipment generated from the previous work and continue to enhance the development of improved problem solving and integration of core skills. Delivery will be by using the Universities newly commissioned video streaming server The material would supplement the existing teaching material across both the Full time and part-time Physiotherapy (Hons) programmes.

Evaluation of both the teaching and learning package and the use / utility and capabilities of the video streaming service would be carried out. It is planned to publish the findings in order to inform current and future practice as well as disseminating a template that could be modified and adopted by other vocational degree programmes within the University.
