The Czech version of the Workplace Activity Limitations Scale (WALS) has been forward and backward translated, linguistically and culturally adapted and reviewed by an expert panel (including patient research partners and rheumatology health professionals). The research team was led by Hana Smucrova, rheumatology occupational therapist, Institute of Rheumatology, Prague Czech Republic, and Prof Alison Hammond, School of Health & Society, University of Salford, UK.
The Czech version of the WALS has not been tested in the Czech Republic. A British English version of the WALS has been tested in rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, axial spondyloarthritis and fibromyalgia. The British-English WALS satisfied Rasch model requirements, and a WALS Rasch transformation table was created. Concurrent validity was strong with the: WLQ-25; internal consistency good and test-retest reliability excellent., and can be used in both clinical practice and research,
