The Aligning Capability Model - thriving in a messy world

Abstract

These images, almost all taken in and around Carcassonne, represent how our different perspectives on the world (towers and windows) are vital but partial and filtered. Consciously shifting our vantage point (on the spiral staircase) gives us a fuller picture. The framed statue represents two different people, or ways of viewing the world, seen as either in conflict or in coherence when they embrace. This also represents Iain McGilchrist’s Hemisphere Hypothesis - foundational to this research. The reflections and board game illustrate whatever model, map or image we use is an inadequate representation of the reality we experience. Water and trees represent systems, flow and growth. The Aligning Capability model (almost hidden) is the focus of this research as it consolidates all of these insights for practical use. Human happiness, especially my wife’s, is the intended goal!
