Hearing the voices of children: creating an Advocacy Centre in Gorton, Manchester, UK.
This project introduces the concept of a children's advocacy centre at a primary school in Gorton, Manchester. The project is an initial phase of a wider project and collaboration, and explores how the advocacy centre would best meet the needs of the children and their community in a trauma-informed approach. The engagement of the children and young people in the design and development of the proposed children’s advocacy centre allowed for clear recommendations concerning the needs and priorities of the children, based on listening to their voices.
