Prof Philip James

Biography I graduated in with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology in 1980 and began work as an agronomist with United Biscuits (Agriculture) the same year. While with United Biscuits (Agriculture) I completed a PhD, graduating in 1986.

Redundancy prompted a change in career pathway first into further education before entering higher education in 1994.

I retired in 2021 and was made an Emritus Profoessor. Since retiring my academic work has been focused on writing text books.
Research Interests Before retiring my research focus on the realtionship between people on their environment. This lead to areas on interest including urban ecology, conservation management, and health and the environment.
Teaching and Learning Having retired I no longer teach students.

Whle at the University of Salford I taught modelues realting to conservation biology, biogeography, habtiat manangment and restoration, field skills, wildlife film making, and sustainability.
