Prof Philip James
Biography | I graduated in with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology in 1980 and began work as an agronomist with United Biscuits (Agriculture) the same year. While with United Biscuits (Agriculture) I completed a PhD, graduating in 1986. Redundancy prompted a change in career pathway first into further education before entering higher education in 1994. I retired in 2021 and was made an Emritus Profoessor. Since retiring my academic work has been focused on writing text books. |

Research Interests | Before retiring my research focus on the realtionship between people on their environment. This lead to areas on interest including urban ecology, conservation management, and health and the environment. |
Teaching and Learning | Having retired I no longer teach students. Whle at the University of Salford I taught modelues realting to conservation biology, biogeography, habtiat manangment and restoration, field skills, wildlife film making, and sustainability. |
