Biography BSc in Physics from Peking University, PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge (PhD research at the Cavendish Laboratory), I spent about four years as a PDRA with Prof. R.H. Williams, FRS, at Cardiff University. In 1992, appointed Lecturer in Physics at the University of Leeds, in 2000, I became Reader in Magnetism at the University of Salford, a position I have held since.

Research interests encompass experimental condensed matter physics, materials science, numerical modelling, and instrumentation development, coauthored more than 80 peer-reviewed research papers, with publications representative of my recent research interests listed at the end of this biography.

Taught various physics modules at all levels of undergraduate and MPhys degree programs and served as an external examiner.

Hobby: hiking, reading, travelling, and engaging in creative activities.
