Biography | Alan is a Lecturer of Occupational Therapy within the directorate of Allied and Public Health in the school of Health and Society. Whilst primarily on a Teaching and Learning Contract, Alan holds school level roles as a Fitness to Practice investigator, Academic misconduct officer and PMC reviewer. Alan is also an EDI link for the directorate and is a part of the SEDIC committee. Alan is engaged with the university community at different levels, particularly as a member of the BAME staff collective within the school and Salford Proud. Outside of the university, Alan served as a regional lead for the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (NW region) from 2019-2024. Alan is also engaged in external work around promoting anti-racism in Occupational therapy and wider practice and has spoken multiple times on national platforms, engaged in guest lecturing and supported development of modules and programmes around this area of interest. Alan is currently pursuing his PhD by PW under the guidance of Prof. Yeliz Prior and Dr. Simone Battista. |
