Biography Ali Alameer is a lecturer in Artificial Intelligence (AI) specialising in Computer Vision, including Large Vision Models (LVMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP) with a focus on ethical Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI bias. He earned his Ph.D. in AI from Newcastle University.

Ali has held postdoctoral positions at Newcastle University and Queen's University Belfast, where he developed machine vision models for precision livestock farming. He created several algorithms to detect pig behaviors in groups. You can view a demonstration of the resting posture detection here:

Research Interests - Ethical LLMs: Addressing bias in LLMs to ensure transparency and accountability. I supervise a postdoc and a Ph.D. student on this topic. Currently developing an expert legal system using advanced LLMs, funded by UKRI with a £500k budget.

- Computer Vision: Creating algorithms and models for image and video analysis to solve complex problems, especially in agriculture. I supervise two Ph.D. students on this topic.
Teaching and Learning Ali Alameer leads two modules in the MSc in AI program. He designed and developed the module on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Deep Learning from scratch. To enhance student interaction, he created two GitHub repositories:

Additionally, Ali supervises numerous MSc and BSc final year projects, averaging 10 MSc projects per trimester and 21 BSc final year projects each academic year.
