Miss Nilam Prinjha
Biography | Nilam joined the University of Salford in August 2022 as a Lecturer in Public Health. Prior to this appointment, Nilam held the role of Assistant Professor in Public Health at the University of Bradford for 5 years. She was Programme Leader for the BSc Public Health and Community Wellbeing degree as well as undertaking teaching and supervision on the Masters in Public Health. Before her appointment at the University of Bradford, Nilam held a Senior Lecturer role within the College of Health and Social Care, University of Derby and, prior to that, the role of Workforce Development Fellow. As Workforce Development Fellow, Nilam provided strategic and operational leadership in curriculum development and enterprise activity. This included working with health and social care employers to design new programme offerings to meet employer and workforce needs. As Senior Lecturer, Nilam played a lead role in establishing the College's new Research Centre and developing research proposals and activities, in particular, in relation to physical activity and healthy eating. Prior to this, Nilam gained extensive experience within the Health and Social Care sector across Greater Manchester. This included roles in research, teaching and management within the area of substance misuse and in the area of health inequalities, commissioning and the provision of services to minoritised ethnic communities. Nilam is also currently a Board member for 'BHA for Equality' (a health and social care charity which exists to challenge health and social care inequalities) and a Trustee for the Royal Society of Public Health. |
