Chair - European Society of Criminology Working Group on Qualitative Research Methodologies and Epistemologies (ESC WG-QRME).
2017

Recognition Type Editorial positions and memberships on Editorial Boards
Description Since its inception, the ESC WG-QRME has provided members and researchers with opportunities to exchange ideas and
collaborate on improving qualitative methodologies and epistemologies in the study of crime, deviance, policing, and broader
social control. The WG-QRME aims to create possibilities for discovering, discussing, and overcoming common challenges in
qualitative research; facilitate new avenues for qualitative research in criminology; increase interdisciplinary thinking; sustain
close networking and cooperation on research and education projects.
I joined the ESC WG-QRME in August 2017. Since then, I have actively participated in and contributed to the WG’s various research
initiatives and activities, demonstrating my commitment to the WG’s research aims. In July 2019, I was appointed co-chair of the
ESC WG- QRME, succeeding Dr. Julie Tieberghien, and served alongside Dr. Rita Faria, Dr. Olga Petintseva, and Dr. Michael Mills.
Since August 2022, I have held the position of chair of the WG-QRME, working with Dr. Győry Csaba, Dr. Valeria Vegh Weis, and Dr.
Gabriela Mesquita Borges.
In my capacity as chair, my contributions include organizing, overseeing, and chairing prearranged panels for the ESC and
scientific meetings for the WG; promoting qualitative research within the scope of the WG; editing and distributing newsletters to the members of the WG; and reviewing abstract submissions for the annual ESC conferences, including the forthcoming
Eurocrim2024.
