Prof Catherine Barnes
| Biography | Professor Barnes is currently the Commercial Director in the School of Science, Engineering and the Environment. In her role she leads the strategic and operational development of the School’s enterprise and commercial activities which includes the Universities flagship activities in NERIC, Energy House and Acoustics. She is a Professor in Innovation and her research is based on industry led research and knowledge exchange in manufacturing, design and sensory engineering, particularly in the modality of touch. Passionate about maximising the value of the interface between university and society to make a tangible difference to students, society and stakeholders, she has led wide range of university externally facing units and is an advisor to UUK on KEC and Innovation Policy. |
