Iris Sowah

Biography	I am a current PHD Social work student researching on THE NEEDS OF FOSTER CARERS OF SEXUALLY ABUSED CHILDREN and an Advanced Practitioner Social Worker with Manchester City Council, Children and Families Directorate. I previously worked in hospitality as Guest Service Manager in various hotels across the UK. I completed my BA in Leisure and Tourism Resource Management (2006 – 2009) and MBA Business Management (2009 – 2011) at the Bangor University in Wales. I furthered by studying MA Social Work (2018 – 2019) at the University of Salford.
Research Interests	My research interests lie in Looked after children and foster carers. My keen interest has been as a result of working with these vulnerable group of children and the acknowledgement of the support they require to enable them to thrive in all aspects of their lives.
