Biography Dr Simone Battista is a Research Fellow in Physiotherapy.

He holds a BSc (First Class Hon) in 'Physiotherapy' from the University of Milan, Italy, in 2016. Then, he completed a Master's Degree (First Class Hon) in 'Health Professional Rehabilitation Sciences' at the University of Verona in 2018. Specialising further, Simone completed a Master's Degree in 'Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Diseases (RMD) Rehabilitation' (First Class Hon) at the University of Genova in 2019. In 2023, Simone attained dual PhDs in Neurosciences and Medical Science through a Joint Doctorate program from the University of Genova, Italy, and Lund University, Sweden.

Simone's publication record spans various research methodologies, including epidemiological studies, qualitative studies, randomised controlled trials and systematic reviews to address diverse research questions and contexts.

Simone continues to contribute significantly to the RMD field, combining a wealth of academic achievements with practical expertise in healthcare and research.
Research Interests Dr Simone Battista is dedicated to advancing research in the field of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMD) and long-term conditions, with a strong emphasis on identifying and addressing factors that may impede optimal care for individuals facing these conditions.

His research focus is particularly centred on unraveling the intricate interplay of socioeconomic, cultural, and psychological factors unique to individuals with RMD and healthcare providers. Simone is driven by a keen interest in understanding how these multifaceted elements impact the overall quality of the care process for individuals grappling with RMD, aiming to contribute valuable insights that enhance individual outcomes and healthcare delivery.
