Dr Pavithra Ganeshu
Biography | Pavithra Ganeshu is a Lecturer in Quantity Surveying and the Degree Apprentice Programme Leader at the University of Salford. With a background as both an academic and a practitioner, Pavithra brings extensive expertise in quantity surveying and disaster management to her teaching and research roles. Her research is centred on enabling transformation in risk-sensitive urban development through adaptive governance, with a particular focus on enhancing stakeholder collaboration in urban planning and disaster risk reduction. Pavithra’s work draws on both her academic training and practical experience, aiming to bridge the gap between policy, practice, and research for more resilient and sustainable built environments. Pavithra holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and a Postgraduate Diploma in Construction Project Management from the University of Moratuwa, as well as a PhD in Disaster Management from the University of Salford. She is a member of several professional bodies, including the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (MAIQS), and the Institute of Quantity Surveyors Sri Lanka (AFIQSSL). With extensive teaching experience across Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and the UK, Pavithra brings a strong global perspective to education. She is known for her attention to detail, commitment to student success, and teamwork. Her research has been presented at global conferences and published in academic journals. Passionate about sustainable development, she continues to contribute to the field through her work and ongoing research. |
