Abstract
This conference paper focuses on the Greater Manchester Postgraduate Workforce Group Mentorship Strategy for implementing the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Standards of proficiency for registered nurses. These new standards of proficiency represent the skills, knowledge and attributes all nurses must demonstrate.
Particularly focused on are the Part 2 Standards for student supervision and assessment. Transition arrangements for supporting learners in practice with move to new NMC standards
Developed is an education framework for new NMC standards with the advocated approach subsequently implemented across Greater Manchester, adopted by the 4 HEIs and partner health and social care /integrated care organisations and PIVO sectors.
