Northern voices opera project: Like me dad

Abstract

The Northern Voices opera project is an ACE-funded research and development project, which explored the possibilities of using regional accents in operatic singing. The four songs/arias resulting were premiered publically in March 2015 and are aimed at a wider project which will result in a full scale opera in 2017 with renowned poet and broadcaster Ian McMillan.
