Abstract
A group of iron-smelting furnaces, located in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve, Zululand, is described. The results of excavation of 6 furnaces are discussed and radiocarbon dates are presented which show that the complex can be attributed to the Late Iron Age. The site is considered within the wider context of the later prehistory of Zululand.
