Abstract

With the emergence of new technologies such as photogrammetry and LiDAR, a photographic image becomes a volume, a space, an experience. The Incarnation exhibition shows these new image-worlds, by presenting the work of a generation of artists who, with photographic tools, design virtual ecologies, avatars-portraits, hybrid bodies, embodied stories. A journey of experiences in the form of immersive, playful and accessible installations to which the entire public of the Rencontres d’Arles is invited. The festival also organizes workshops for kids as well as the fourth edition of the Virtual Reality Writing Residency welcoming artists and experts in Arles from August 21 to 28.
