Abstract

New and emerging technologies play an important role in enabling heath care providers to respond to a range of challenges in the future (DH 2014) and technology and innovation in other fields will increasingly disrupt the way that patients and staff perceive, understand and manage health and ill-health in the future (HEE 2014). People are adopting new technologies at a rapid rate and apps will become even more of a key feature of improving the quality and cost of educating not just the formal workforce but patients and their carer (HEE 2014).
