Abstract
"Holotype" is a sonic and sculptural exploration inspired by the juxtaposition of the landscapes of the industrial North West and the Lake District AONB.
The sonic elements of this work make use of synthesised and found sound/field recordings, to blend elements of ambient music alongside quintessential dance music genres prevalent in the cultural scene of the North of the UK.
Accompanying the sonic output, are a series of 20 sculptures made out of found objects from the local areas of Manchester and the Lake District, presented with concrete plinths, as a visual representation of the juxtapositions of the themes of this conceptual work.
