Professor Poetry Innov Creative Practice
This paper outlines the author's developing interest in the relationship between radical poetry and movement practices, establishing a theoretical perspective through the work of Carrie Noland on gesture. The presentation then explores the usefulness of this approach for interpreting performances of the work of Jackson Mac Low by Clarinda Mac Low, the collaboration between Sally Silvers and Bruce Andrews and the improvisatory work of Simone Forti. This work was later revised for publication in The Wolf poetry magazine.
