Biography I worked in adult care before qualifying as a social worker in mental health.
I am the Placements Lead for the Directorate and have previously been the Lead for Internationalisation and Academic Quality.
I have led the development of postgraduate programmes and worked with regulatory bodies on the approval of programmes.
I work with the Greater Manchester Social Work Academy on improving the opportunities for social work students on placement.
I am a member of the REF panel and the School Research Ethics Committee (Research).
Research Interests My research interests are:
inequalities in social work and social work education
critical approaches to ethical regulation
ethical sensitivities for practitioners in social work
capacity and mental health
Member of Centre for Research on Inclusive Society (CRIS)
Teaching and Learning I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I am an Accredited Practice Teacher for social work.
I have taught on the following modules:

Equality and Diversity
Safeguarding
Decision-making
Consolidation of Professional Practice (CPD)
I currently teach Research Ethics at School level and lead the social work research module on the Masters programme.
