Dr Brendan Williams
Biography | Brendan Williams is an Associate Professor in music technology in the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology at the University of Salford, UK. His research is primarily practice-based, with traditional publications and presentations drawing on over 40 commercially available album releases as a producer/engineer. Brendan’s work has been released internationally through record labels such as Blue Note, Sony and Virgin, with records receiving national airplay, nominations and awards. Research outputs currently focus on two distinct areas of practice; Working closely with ensembles such as Manchester Camerata and Manchester Collective he explores emerging spatialisation techniques within both live and recorded contemporary classical music. In the field of popular music Williams writes on the contemporary use of saturation techniques in drum kit recording and presentation. Alongside music production/engineering activities, Brendan is an active composer/artist and co-founder of Low Four Studio, an internet provided music television channel. |
