Prof Jade Munslow Ong
Biography | I completed my BA, MA and PhD at the University of Manchester. I joined the University of Salford in 2013. I am currently Principal Investigator on the AHRC-funded project 'South African Modernism 1880-2020' (Jan 2021-Apr 2024). I am a BBC / AHRC New Generation Thinker (2022) and appear regularly on BBC Radio 3. |

Research Interests | Olive Schreiner and her circles, fin de siècle literatures and cultures, colonial and postcolonial texts and contexts (particularly from Southern Africa), world literature, postcolonial ecocriticism, animals and the environment in literature, global modernisms. |
Teaching and Learning | As module convenor: World Literature and the Environment (level 5); Post/colonial African Literatures (level 6); Dissertations (level 6); Writing Sex and Gender (MA). Teaching: Discovering Literature (level 4); Victorian Literature (level 5); Theory, Text, Writing (MA); Regional and World Literatures (MA); Professional Practice (MA); Dissertations (MA). I currently supervise PhD theses on Victorian and global literatures, and would welcome applications relating to any of my research interests |
