Project Description	The work considers and discusses the patronage issues that the British brass band appears to be experiencing in recent years, deliberating whether its insular persona has been created by the movement's proclivity for the contest field, upholding heritage and tradition. The portfolio of compositions explores a fresh approach for composing for the medium, with a view to re-establishing a connection with contemporary audiences.
